  1. DAY 1 : MARRAKECH – Essaouira

Pickup at the Airport and drive to Essaouira and stay at a traditional Riad. A riad is a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden. Riads allow the privacy and protection from the weather in Morocco and a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of the busy medina. Essaouira is a outstanding example of a well preserved late 18th century seaport town with many reminders of what life must have been like centuries ago.

  2. Day 2 : Explore Essaouira

Driver will pick you up at the riad at 9am to visit the medina for a personal guided shopping tour. In the afternoon you will spend some time on your own and practise your bartering skills.

  3. DAY 3 : Essaouira to OUARZAZATE

You will be picked up at the riad at 8am to drive from Essaouira to Ourzazate. During the drive you will stop and visit Hait Ben Had

  4. DAY 4 : Ouarzazate to Erfoud

Begin the trip by crossing the valley of 1000 Kasbahs and follow the ancient caravan route from many years ago. Drive through Dades Gorge and return through Todra Gorge, a stunning mountain oasis, featuring a riverside terrace lush with palm tress. Arrive at the small town of Erfoud and check in to your apartment for the next five days.

  5. DAY 5 to DAY9
There are several non-profit associations in, and around, the Sahara Desert that offer a variety of volunteering opportunities. Depending on your area of expertise or you desire to contribute, we will coordinate with the local organizations to fill your five days with the chance to make a difference to many people that otherwise would not have had an opportunity for assistance. These 5 days will be customized to suit each particular tour group.
  6. DAY 10 : Erfoud to Merzouga
Drive to the dunes of the Sahara, visit the three villages of Merzouga. You will then visit the Gnowa Village and hear the local authentic Gnowan music before continuing your way to the desert. As you drive closer to the dunes you will experience the visual wonder of the Sahara Desert. Back to your auberge and relax before starting the camel ride and see the sunset at the top of the dunes. Spend the night and camp in a berber tent in the middle of the dunes and see the moon and stars under the desert sky. Get up early and view the spectacular desert sunrise.
  7. DAY 11 : Merzouga

You will arrive back to the auberge from your camel ride. Return to your room to relax, freshen up, go for a swim or take a nap. If you wish, lunch can be ordered at the auberge and you can enjoy the remainder of the day around the pool before dinner and an evening of drumming and conversation with other guests.

  8. DAY 12 : Merzouga to Ourzazate via Draa Valley
  9. DAY 13 : Ourzazate to Marrakech

As you leave the Sahara you will notice the landscape transform from Saharan sands to lush green valleys with slow running creeks. The drive through the High Atlas is an experience you will not forget. You will spend the evening in Marrakech and tour the medina which is full of stall after stall of spices, dried fruits, and many Moroccan crafts. A evening in the Djemaa el fna Square is an experience that any visitor to Morocco cannot miss. You will see snake charmer’s, fortune tellers, drummers and many pick pockets. Be careful with your belongings and do not carry any valuables with you this evening.

  10. DAY 14 : Explore Marrakech/Departure
Depending on your flight time you may be able to do some exploring of Marrakech before your departure. You will be delivered to the Airport at least 2 hours before your departure.
